…and so, after holding on for so long, her hands cramped and in pain, feeling like they were unable to move. Her fingertips red raw after holding on with such sheer determination, she closed her eyes and just let go.

No longer did she stop the current from carrying her downstream. No longer did she stop the wind from carrying her into the clouds.

She let go, allowing a higher force to take charge. Feeling the sense of freedom and relief wash over her like warm rain in a tropical thunderstorm. Washing all doubt and all pain away. Adrift in the world, floating. She was free. Finally at peace…

In this lifetime, I have been through my fair share of ups and downs. I seem to attract change, consistent and relentless change. For too long, I let this series of constant events shape who I was, control how I felt.

I resisted the change as much as I could because it usually went completely against the grain of what everyone else would consider "normal". Until I got to a point where I just let go. I stopped fiercely holding on to whatever I could grasp at. The moment I let go, stopped trying to control my path and the world around me, when I let the river carry me down stream, my life and how I view it changed.

“You cannot control the world, but you can control how you react to it” – Rochelle Fox, Mindspo

Since then, the wild Goddess Kali has continued to lead me into change and transformation, but I no longer resist it. There are lessons to be learnt and beauty to be found in every change. Through everything the biggest and hardest lesson to learn was to enjoy life, to make the most out of every day and not wish away time, waiting for "something better". These are the lessons I want to share with you. I want to help you to live your most inspired and joy filled life.

Growing up my Dad was in the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) so we moved a lot. I went to nine different schools, two in England, in North Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, Perth, Canberra, Darwin then four different schools when we settled back in Perth again. Needless to say I became very good at making new friends and not only became well adjusted to change but came to crave it.

I started classical ballet at a young age and when I was 10 years old was accepted into a professional ballet school here in Perth. I then left school at the age of 15 to dance full time. I spent the next two years spending every hour of every day practicing not only classical ballet but, character, Spanish, contemporary, drama and my absolute favourite, Can Can with an ex Moulin Rouge dancer.

In my last year we were all set to go to Europe for auditions, but I had a breakdown and gave it all up, a decision that in my younger life I came to regret.

My love of being in front of an audience never left and after quitting dance I transitioned into modelling. A decision that led to some dark days but ultimately led me to one of my greatest passions, teaching.

For nearly ten years I taught students of all ages and backgrounds, modelling, grooming, deportment and life skills. I look back on this time of my life with a huge amount of pride. To this day, it still lights me up thinking about all the transformations I witnessed.

In true Vata (my Ayurvedic Dosha) style, during this time I also lived out my "when I grow up I want to be" list, trying every job that didn't involve sitting behind a desk, trying to find the one that fit. Ballet teacher, fairy for children's parties, working at a wildlife park, fitness technician, you name it, I tried it.

The one constant, over my whole adult life, has been connection. If I am in a position or on a path that allows me to be surrounded by people, I feel alive.

My purpose, my Dharma, is to cultivate joy. To encourage and inspire others to see the joy that already exists in this magical world around us and where it may be lacking, share with them the tools you can use to create joy. Living life in a state of joy, is living your life in alignment. When we are in alignment, everything flows naturally, life is easy, life is good, life is great.

I just wanted to say thank you for making it all the way down here, you are an absolute star, did you know that? If you're feeling the call to cultivate more joy in your life, or just want to say hi, please don't hesitate to get in touch. You can also find me on Instagram and Facebook, where I share all the things that will help you to live your most joyful and inspired life as well as everything else going on in my world.

Love & light,
